Does anybody here actually watch/has watched Star Trek, any of the TV series ,and maybe have some thoughts on the upcoming movie? I've never even seen an entire episode of any of the incarnations or the original series and was wondering if you guys think it could be remade into a full length movie (For the 8,000,000,000th time) . I do, however, believe that if anyone could do it it would be J.J. Abrams.

Personally I've never gotten into Star Trek and never really seen the appeal of it, but I'm going to see that movie. Purely because it's J.J. Abrams, plus it has Zachary Quinto from Heroes in it. Might be pretty good; maybe it'll make a Star Trek fan out of me.

I watched Star Trek on and off growing up (my brother was a huge fan), and I am super excited for the movie. Abrams cast a fantastic group of actors and actresses, and it'll be fun seeing updated familiar faces. I don't know exactly how successful it will be, or even how good, but I know it'll be fun.

i havent heard much about the new movie, but i was quite the trekkie in my day, and if there's one thing i learned, you cant do a fucking original without shatner, Kelley, and Doohan ( two of which are dead anyway..). it might be a great movie (doubt it) but it cant be like the good old days when they pulled it off with $100.000 budget. im surprised nimoy is on board, but he is the Spock after all..
